Happy 'spiritual' Mother's day!

"Belated happy Mother's day!" a very late greeting from me. lol. Yes its been a while since the last time i wrote here.(I miss my blog!) since i was super late with my post on what's happening to me for the past few days, it only justifies that my topic is also a late event. Its better late than never, as we always use as an excuse.

Sunday, May 14, 2012. I am honestly was frantic on this day, because we will have our second meeting for (Singcon) and I have no idea if Shyam will appear in our bible study and Connect meeting at church, well this was another excuse of me, saying I simply forgot that it was a MOTHER'S DAY. I missed dating my mom or anyone of my friend who is a mother. I prayed to the Lord about my family, but looking at the attendees (GCFers) all of them were composed of Moms and daughters joyful about their plans for their mom.

I looked a picture in my mind my schedule on that day...FULLY BOOKED! No time to even call your own mother. The church service started and since it was another reminder that it was mother's day, it was starting to really go through me. I thank the Holy Spirit for keeping me composed as the preaching went on. Pastor Larry sermonized 'A Picture of a Godly Mother' the passage is on Exodus 2: 1-10

The Birth of Moses

Now a man of the house of Levi married a Levite woman, and she became pregnant and gave birth to a son. When she saw that he was a fine child, she hid him for three months. But when she could hide him no longer, she got a papyrus basket for him and coated it with tar and pitch. Then she placed the child in it and put it among the reeds along the bank of the Nile. His sister stood at a distance to see what would happen to him.
Then Pharaoh’s daughter went down to the Nile to bathe, and her attendants were walking along the river bank. She saw the basket among the reeds and sent her slave girl to get it. She opened it and saw the baby. He was crying, and she felt sorry for him. “This is one of the Hebrew babies,” she said.
Then his sister asked Pharaoh’s daughter, “Shall I go and get one of the Hebrew women to nurse the baby for you?”
“Yes, go,” she answered. And the girl went and got the baby’s mother. Pharaoh’s daughter said to her, “Take this baby and nurse him for me, and I will pay you.” So the woman took the baby and nursed him. 10 When the child grew older, she took him to Pharaoh’s daughter and he became her son. She named him Moses,[a] saying, “I drew him out of the water.”

I really loved the story and the the explanation of how unconditional Jochebed ( Moses' mom) loves him.
And how Moses  became so godly. pastor Larry reiterated that the prize of being a godly mother is having a godly sons/daughters.

HAPPY MOTHERS DAY! photo by Rajsh ;)

I was delighted about the message. and as always the church surprised the mothers for a simple yet beautiful rose!  And the most exciting part was, even those women who are praying to disciple someone was included as part of spiritual mothers! and since it is not secret to our Lord that i am really do praying for this specific person, it was again a divine moment to agree that i am really praying for it. I was one of those woman who had a rose with them enjoying the look of being a spiritual mom. It really brings joy to my heart. I just give  all the glory to the Lord because He again gave me an escape from a possible heart fracture towards my circumstance.

A WARRIOR vs. A WORRIER

A Worrier

Did you go out today carrying a heavy burden? Maybe you’re worried about something. Maybe there is a problem in your life that just doesn’t seem to go away. Maybe you feel guilty because of some sins you have committed.

Maybe you’re concerned about finances. Maybe you’re frustrated because you’re trying to get something accomplished & you can’t seem to get it done. You convinced yourself that everything is alright but it still manifest that we are fretting like a child looses his/her toy.

When I am worried (i am not excuse of this issue)  i tend to say these phrases  "Me first, & everybody else last," & "It’s my way, or no way!" Then i know i have no peace. I am destructed within and my heart is crying out loud for help.

So how can we handle these circumstances and get inner peace? because most of the time
we forget the Lord, Him, being the King. And we take all the burdens that we brought with us & put them right back on again. And we begin to worry more & more. Look back on one of the promises of our Lord in Matthew 6 : 31-34  "31 So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ 32 For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. 33 But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. 34 Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own."

Shift two letters of ‘worrier’ (and your thinking, slightly)  and you become…
….WARRIOR!

"You need to realize that peace means "being in a right relationship." So peace with one another means being in a right relationship with one another. Peace within means being alright within, & peace with God means being alright with God." - quoting it from Pastor Melvin M. Newland, Minister Central Christian.

Philippians 4:4 4 Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice!

The conclusion is, whatever the reason, . "Don’t worry. Let God handle it."

Am I Tuned In?

'The Voice' is one of the singing contests in the US aside from AI (American Idol). Now on its second season. Honestly, i really like what and how they do their selection. It started through the BLIND Auditions, the judges' chairs were not facing the contestants, and they will only turn around once they heard the voice that they are looking for to join their team. There are 4 judges/coaches: Christina Aguillera, Ceelo Green, Adam Lavine and Blake Shelton. All have their own style of singing and are successful in each own fields. Yes, this is one of my favorite shows in cable TV (though Destiny doesn't have AXN) I thank YouTube for their recent uploads, but still, I know i will be tuning in to this program like forever. lol.

How about with my spiritual walk? am i tuned in to the leading of the Holy Spirit? or do I just want to tune out of it because I know that it will (sometimes) not bring me joy of my flesh? He will surely push us with a realization that we have to come back to the Father for repentance to something we said or did.

Connect Makati's Prayer Meeting last night!

These people from last night's prayer meeting in Makati, are one of the strong reminder of what we are in the Lord. We are servants of the Lord and we also have to be of service with each other through prayers.

How about a constant adminition that we should pray for our friends who are in trouble and challenged. Also the conviction that we really never fully shared Jesus with a person we love and care about. I pray that our Lord continue using us and we should listen and be sensitive in His leading. Obey and be ready always, because this is not for me (us) or my (our) own plan, this is our Father's plan that He can do it without our help but He chose to use me (us) instead. Wow, how flattering! All Glory to our God.
